A roundtable titled “The Role of the OECD in Strengthening Anti-Corruption Policies in the Private Sector” was held on October 1, 2024, at the Croatian Chamber of Economy. The event was jointly organized by the Association of Corporate Lawyers and the Croatian Association for Business Compliance, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Administration, and Digital Transformation.
Representatives of the Ministry of Justice, including Mladen Bručić-Matić, Director of the Department for European Affairs, International and Judicial Cooperation, and Corruption Prevention, and Tamara Šurina, Head of the Anti-Corruption Sector, as well as Ana Čulo, Head of the Investment Sector at the Ministry of Economy and a member of the Secretariat of the National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct, were presenters. Martina Barbarić Baričević (HUKP) and Vinko Berković (HUZUP) moderated the discussion.
Mr Bručić-Matić presented the process of Croatia’s accession and activities within the OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions, as well as the content of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention.
Furthermore, participants were introduced to OECD standards in the field of responsible business conduct and the fight against bribery and other forms of corruption, with a particular focus on the OECD MNE Guidelines and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct.
