National contact point (NCP) for responsible business conduct

NCP Secretariat

The Government of the Republic of Croatia has established the National Contact Point (NCP) for Responsible Business Conduct in 2019. The Croatian NCP consists of two bodies: the Secretariat and the External Body.

The NCP has two main tasks:
  • Promoting the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct, in order to raise awareness about the Guidelines and respond to enquiries about them.
  • Providing a mechanism for handling specific instances related to non-compliance with the Guidelines recommendations. The specific instances are not legal cases, and the NCP is not a judicial body. The focus is on the resolution of the issues raised – the NCP offers good offices and facilitates access to consensual and non-adversarial means (such as conciliation or mediation).
NCP SECRETARIAT

The NCP Secretariat coordinates all the NCP’s activities, provides administrative support to the work of the External Body, prepares annual reports on the NCP’s activities for the OECD Investment Committee and participates in annual meetings of the OECD Working Party on Responsible Business Conduct (WPRBC).

The NCP Secretariat comprises one official from the Ministry of Economy and one official from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
